Stretching and Shrinking Continues

Regular math classes reviewed calculating perimeters and areas of various shapes yesterday and today. Tomorrow you will be doing an activity to practice stretching images. Challenge math turned in their Wump families today and talked about how changing the rules will affect the perimeter and area of the new formed shape. I have asked challenge students to think about how they plan to shrink Eddie in the next couple of days. We will be working with how to use rules to move shapes around on a coordinate graph this week. Doing so will take creativity and a great understanding of rules and coordinates. Oh boy is this exciting stuff folks!!! :-)

REMINDERS:

~Don't forget that throughout this unit, if you ever see anything that has to do with what we are learning in class (stretching/shrinking), bring it in (or a description of it) to share with the class and Miss Kohr will give you extra points for your class grade! :-)

Today's homework:

Challenge: Stretch Eddie

Regular: None

Also: remember to...
~Redo any assignments necessary (you have one week to redo work in math)
~KEEP STUDYING THOSE MATH FACTS...you could have another timed test any day now :-) :-) :-)

Question of the Day: What time is it on a twelve-hour clock 6.5 hours after a military clock shows 1500?

**YOU CAN'T JUST LOOK THIS UP ON THE INTERNET...YOU MUST SHOW ME A MATH STRATEGY FOR FIGURING OUT YOUR ANSWERS TO GET IT CORRECT!!!**

Good luck my savvy students!!! Remember, the first student to answer the Question of the Day correctly will get a small prize from me the next day! :-)
