Regular Math Test on Wednesday!!!

Challenge math students did amazing on their test last week...WAY TO GO EVERYONE!!! Regular math kiddos will have their test on Wednesday. Some reminders for finding success on the test is to STUDY STUDY STUDY (you were given an study guide to help with this); more specifically:
#1) KNOW YOUR VOCABULARY WORDS AND DEFINITIONS
#2) KNOW HOW TO WRITE A RULE/EQUATION USING THE CORRECT SYMBOLS FOR MULTIPLICATION AND BEING SURE TO DEFINE YOUR VARIABLES
#3) BE SURE TO PUT A TITLE ON YOUR GRAPHS AND TABLES AND PUT YOUR IV AND DV IN THE CORRECT PLACES

Best of luck and be sure to ask me or your peers for any help you need BEFORE taking the test on Wednesday!!! :-)

Reminders:

Don't forget on Monday, October 1st, all Red Robin locations will donate 50 cents from each burger ordered during lunch or dinner to Zachary Solomon (to help raise money for his $830,000 transplant surgery). Come and bring some friends for YUMMY food and a WONDERFUL cause! Let's help save Zach!!!

Students need to be sure to come to class prepared (every day) with their graph paper, pencil, book, and binder (and any homework or papers that need to be turned in). If students continue to arrive unprepared, a phone call will be made home and students will be issued a detention.

Today's homework:
Challenge: None

Regular: **Test, Wednesday, October 3rd**
-Study Guides were handed out last Thursday-

Also: remember to...
~Redo any assignments necessary (you have one week to redo work in math)
~KEEP STUDYING THOSE MATH FACTS...you could have another timed test any day now :-) :-) :-)

Question of the Day: As of 1984, the New York Yankees had been in 33 World Series. They had won twice as many Series as they had lost. How many World Series had they won?

Good luck my savvy students!!! Remember, the first student to answer the Question of the Day correctly will get a small prize from me the next day! :-)

You both are close. But remember they said they won twice as many as they lost. You answer would mean they lost 13 and won 26 which together would equal 39 games, but they really only played 33. Try again...you are almost there! :-)

I say they won 22 times because I broke 33 into thirds which equals 11, 11, and 11. So they lost eleven and then doubled that which equals 22. -Emily 2nd hour

Thanks Ms. Kohr. I hope you feel better soon!!! You had a cold all week! And guess what Mrs. Martin had a cold too, and Miss Ellis lost her voice. The teacher sickness is spreading around. Ah!
