The Test is Coming...

Challenge students wrapped up Variables and Patterns today and should come tomorrow with their study guides answered and questions for the test. The test is on Friday! :-) Regular math students are working on Lesson 3.2 and will continue tomorrow. Be sure to remember when writing equations to define your variables and NOT use "x" for multiplication. Let's try this again, who can tell me why??? Also, what can we use in place of "x" when using multiplication in our equations we are writing???

Reminders:

Students need to be sure to come to class prepared (every day) with their graph paper, pencil, book, and binder (and any homework or papers that need to be turned in). If students continue to arrive unprepared, a phone call will be made home and students will be issued a detention.

Today's homework:
Challenge: p. 56-58 questions 4-7 & 20; Come to class tomorrow with your study guides finished and with any questions you have for the test
**Challenge's Test on Variables & Patterns is Friday, September 28th**
-Study Guides were handed out Wednesday, September 19th-

Regular: Lesson 3.2 p. 52 + 53 Letter A only (you only need to do sentences for #2 & #5)
**Test, Wednesday, October 3rd**
-Study Guides will be handed out tomorrow and need to be finished by Monday-

Also: remember to...
~Redo any assignments necessary (you have one week to redo work in math)
~KEEP STUDYING THOSE MATH FACTS...you could have another timed test any day now :-) :-) :-)

Question of the Day: Over a period of 38 years, beginning in 1884, Sara Winchester built a strange mystery house in San Jose, California. The house, at a cost of $5.5 million, eventually had 158 rooms and 40 stairways, some ending in midair. What was the average cost of each room in the house?

Good luck my savvy students!!! Remember, the first student to answer the Question of the Day correctly will get a small prize from me the next day! :-)

we dont use the multiplecation sign becaus using ()()=00 or st=d or s.t=d

the reason you should not put x in your eqaution is because someone could think it would be a letter so its best to use like a dot or ()

ok so i cant find the answer but i found a site about it:http://www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/

Hey Ms.Kohr its Amie J from 4th hour. I know y we shouldn't use x for the multication sign. Its because some people can get it mixed up and think its a letter to represent a variable. See ya tomorrow.

Good job everyone on the multiplication question. Amanda...you are supposed to be using math strategies to figure the answers out, not just looking them up on the Internet silly girl! Cool website though...thanks! :-)
